Diwali means in Sanskrit is a row of lamps. Entrance is made colorful with lovely traditions design of rangoli to welcome Lakshmi the goddess of wealth and prosperity. To indicate the long-awaited arrival, small foot prints are drawn with rice flour all over the houses. Lakshmi puja is performed in the evenings when tiny diyas of clay are lighted.Diwali we decorate the houses, bursting firecrackers and inviting near and dear ones to the house for partaking in a feast. The lighting of lamps is a way of paying bow to god for success of health, wealth, knowledge, peace, courage and fame.
