Pongal Cards

It is a harvest festival celebrated in Tamil Nadu. This is a four day festival of thanksgiving to nature. People get busy decorating their houses, throwing away old and useless things. Women are occupied in rangoli model and colors. The making of sweet rice is the most important preparation done. This is a dish prepared with rice, dal, jaggery, dry fruits, sugar and milk. All these ingredients are cooked in a new clay pot in the open and allowed to boil over, telling plenty and victory for the year a head. This is offered to the sun god and shared as prasad.
