Halloween Greetings

Can you imagine any Halloween party without some gore and blood effects? Here is a recipe for making fake blood which will look real and absolutely cool on Halloween. Of course you could just step into a shop and buy some red syrup but its always greater fun to prepare your concoction of fake blood!!

Homemade Fake Blood

1 c. Karo Syrup
2 Tbsp Water
3 Tbsp Red Coloring Agent
1 tsp Yellow Coloring Agent

Take all the ingredients and put them in a bowl and nicely mix them. Then you add the red colouring or yellow colouring agents to give it a deeper or lighter shade of blood.

Chocolate Fake Blood

1/2 c. Water
4 Tbsp Corn Syrup
1 Tbsp Cocoa
1 tsp Red Coloring Agent

First take a bowl of water and add the ingredients to it. Make the mixture sit for some time and make sure you skim the bubbles from the top. Add colouring agents to brighten or deepen your mix.

Realistic Recipe

2/3 c. Corn Syrup
1/3 c. Warm Water
5 Tbsp Corn Starch
4 tsp red food coloring
1 Tbsp Powdered Cocoa
2 drops of green or yellow food coloring

Mix the corn starch with the water in a large mixing bowl. Stir in the corn syrup. Add the food coloring slowly, checking for color.

Gravy Blood

This is fairly new and I haven't had chance to test it properly but its looks GREAT!

Gravy Granules
Red Food Coloring
HOT Water

The preparation is simple enough, firstly make the gravy up and if you want you can make it a little thicker and then add the red colour until you get the correct shade that you were looking for. It's up to you how much you add but too much will stain as it will not have been diluted enough.

Easy Blood Mixture

This is good for spidering:

Plain Flour
Water
Red Food Coloring
1 tsp. of Coffee

Firstly take the water and boil it on the stove. Before that make sure that you sieve the flour and remove any lumps that could mar your Fake Blood if unremoved. You don't need to be precise with quantity of ingredients but can add them in fun sort of way until you get you required shade. Red colour and flour will give you the good consistency that you are looking for.
